Author Richard F. Wright Updated His Blogger Profile

Richard F. Wright is a New England writer and independent publisher who turned to full-time authorship after a long career in the corporate world. Working from a distinctly Massachusetts vantage point, Wright writes in several registers — memoir, local travel guide, cultural polemic, and investigative political non-fiction — yet his voice is consistently plainspoken, curious about people and institutions, and willing to move from affection to blunt critique when the subject calls for it. His books are widely available online, including through Amazon, and have found a small but steady readership across genres.

The World’s Seven Biggest Liars — cultural polemic
In this short, provocative book Wright takes on the grand myths that he believes shape—and too often mislead—modern life, with a particular focus on organized religion and the social power of enduring falsehoods. The book reads like a restless essay: part personal argument, part cultural diagnosis. Wright’s tone here is argumentative and satirical; he writes as someone trying to pry open comfortable assumptions rather than soothe them. The title and framing make the book appealing to readers who enjoy contrarian, idea-driven criticism.

Worcester’s Winter Hill Farm — memoir and place
Wright’s Worcester memoir is a warm, detail-rich account of growing up with an “urban farm” on Winter Hill that shaped his early life and imagination. The book mixes small domestic scenes (animals, neighbors, school) with a wider curiosity about technology and science that later became part of his intellectual life. It’s the most personal of his titles, written in the reflective, anecdotal mode readers expect from place-based memoirs of New England childhood. Anyone interested in Worcester history or the texture of mid-century New England family life will find it especially rewarding.

A Vacationer’s Guide to Rural New England Bookstores — a reader’s road map
This compact guide collects Wright’s recommendations for independent and rural bookstores across New England. It’s practical, conversational, and aimed at travelers who want to combine a scenic road trip with bookshop browsing. With an author who clearly loves both place and print, the guide functions as a map for bibliophiles who prefer local shops to chains, and it showcases Wright’s knack for curating small, characterful destinations. The book first appeared in digital/paper formats and has been used by readers planning literary excursions through the region.

The John Fresolo Saga — investigative political non-fiction
Wright’s most recent and highest-profile book is a deep dive into Massachusetts politics. Written as an investigative account, The John Fresolo Saga examines the resignation of a well-known Massachusetts state legislator and the tangled mixture of personal scandal, local power, and political consequence around it. This volume demonstrates Wright’s shift into reportage and political analysis; it’s longer, more documentary in tone, and aimed at readers interested in statehouse intrigue and the mechanics of local American politics. Reviews and listings show it marketed as a serious look at political conspiracy and institutional behavior inside the Massachusetts State House.

Common threads and strengths
Across these four books, two strengths stand out. First, Wright is an observant localist: whether describing a Worcester childhood, a chain of rural bookstores, or the corridors of the Massachusetts State House, he writes with an eye for the small detail that reveals larger character and consequence. Second, he’s versatile — able to switch from memorial warmth to polemical heat to investigative cool without losing an accessible, conversational tone. Readers who prefer straightforward, idea-driven prose and who have an appetite for New England place, local politics, and contrarian cultural essays will find his work congenial.

Where to find the books
All four titles — The World’s Seven Biggest Liars; Worcester’s Winter Hill Farm; A Vacationer’s Guide to Rural New England Bookstores; and The John Fresolo Saga — are listed on Amazon and on several bookseller sites (Goodreads, Books-A-Million, Walmart), making them easy to order in print or digital formats.

Lost TV Interview with Richard F Wright about THE JOHN FRESOLO SAGA, has been found.

Local TV personality Mauro Depasquale interviewed Richard Wright in 2020 about his book, The John Fresolo Saga. The link to the interview was interupted as Spectrum changed its relationship with local cable outlets. But, now the interview is again available to view. VIEW THE INTERVIEW NOW.

Upon its release, The John Fresolo Saga, drew a lot of interest from radio, TV, and print media as it made claims that a serious political conspiracy had been unleashed at the Massachusetts State House resulting in the shocking resignation by Representative John Fresolo.

VIEW THE INTERVIEW NOW.

The true story is now told as a result of two years of investigative reporting by Richard F. Wright.

-- False Accusations - The book identifies the false accusations, the corrupted evidence, the distorted and fabricated testimony, and the oppressive pressure applied by elected officials and highly paid outside consultants to force John Fresolo to give up his freely won position as a State Representative for the 16th Worcester district.

-- Lying Under Oath - Witnesses admitted under oath that they had lied. Evidence was shown to be corrupted and unreliable. Allegations that spread to newspaper headlines, even though the ethics committee was supposed to operate secretly, were shown to be false, misleading, and prejudicial. Yet, Fresolo could not defend himself publicly without being in violation of House rules.

-- Denied Cross-Examination - Fresolo was allowed to have counsel, but counsel could not cross-examine witnesses or challenge evidence. Fresolo could not speak unless recognized by the committee chairman, who continuously hushed Fresolo when he protested false testimony. The characterization of a "kangaroo court" was clear to anyone who had access to the procedure.

-- Speaker's Spokesman Lied to Media - Officials of the Speaker's office lied to the media that John Fresolo had not been pressured to resign. The book clearly shows that the chairman of the ethics committee pressured Fresolo, the attorney for the ethics committee threatened and pressured Fresolo, and the draconian resolution brought against Fresolo was strictly a pressure tactic. Fresolo succumbed to the pressure.

-- Accused was Blackmailed into Resigning - Just as the committee was about to settle on a resolution that the accused would accept, the committee abruptly added "evidence" not previously shared with the defense, not entered during the hearings, not in a manner that allowed the defense to respond, and concerned with none of the original 13 allegations that sparked the investigation. The accused was blackmailed into resigning to avoid the public disclosure of material unrelated to the allegations of ethical breaches.

Another 5-Star Review for Richard F. Wright's, "The World's Seven Biggest Liars"

Richard F. Wright's assessment of religious prophets draws positive review from non-atheist concerned with all religions.

Eight years after its original release, The World's Seven Biggest Liars continues to draw positive reviews. What is interesting about this review is that unlike the target audience: 'atheists,' this reviewer states he is not an atheist but appreciates the assessment about religions. Atheist, or not, the book begs the question whether the misrepresentations by prophets should be called out.

Rod Lee of "The Rambler" reviews The John Fresolo Saga by Richard F Wright

Read More About The John Fresolo Saga in The Rambler

Rod Lee, writer for The Rambler, attended the recording session of the episode of "About the Valley," a local cable TV show hosted by a well-known media personality, Harry Berkowitz that addresssed resignation of John Fresolo as a State Rep. (You can watch the show here.) Rod wrote an extensive review of the book and listened to the live interview of Wright and Fresolo, hosted by Berkowitz.

In the January 2020 issue of The Rambler, Rod Lee wrote:
"What finally emerges from Mr. Wright's exhaustive research is a portrait of an Ethics Committee chaired by now-Boston Mayor Marty Walsh that caved to the wishes of Speaker De Leo. Why? Because Rep. Fresolo did not always toe the party line, and in fact did not support Mr. DeLeo for speaker."

Author of The John Fresolo Saga to be Guest on Talk of the Commonwealth Show on Thursday

-- Richard F. Wright to be on Radio 830 AM on Thursday, November 21 at 7:05 AM Segment with Host Hank Stolz

Hank Stolz, host of WCRN (830 AM) Talk of the Commonwealth radio show announced that Author Richard Wright will be a guest this Thursday, November 21, on the 7:05 AM segment of the show.
Richard F. Wright Addresses the Book Signing Audience
Wright's new book, The John Fresolo Saga, has created a lot of local interest. At a book signing last week in Worcester, Wright addressed an audience who came to hear why he wrote the book and particularly the challenges he faced in getting the story.

In an earlier interview on his other show, The Hank Stolz Experience, which aired on TV 3 Channel in Worcester, Wright was asked if there was any "blow-back" on his claims that Fresolo was the victim of a kangaroo court process that denied him the right to cross-examine witnesses against him. Wright explained that all the state has to do is release the secret reports to find the truth.

On the show, Wright said, "They won't release the secret findings because they are exactly what is in the book." Following its Executive Conference process, the "court" of 11 committee members could ask questions, but John and his attorney could not. The "court" allowed John to submit written questions that the Chairman asked of only one witness, but did not offer any follow-up questions, did not allow Fresolo to challenge a false answer, and totally denied Fresolo's attorney from any participation.

Wright told Stolz on the TV interview that he found the process used against Fresolo as "unfair and in my mind, unAmerican."

The John Fresolo Saga Now Available as Hardcover

The John Fresolo Saga is Now Available in Hardcover at Amazon.com and by order at any bookstore.

Many thanks to Graphic designer, and long-time friend, Sarah Conti, who created the cover you see here, which adds a lot of punch to the layout. It's important when a book is on the shelf in the library or in the bookstore, that the cover reaches out to the reader.

Combined sales of eBook and Paperback have reached 150 copies, according to my distributor. It's exciting to know that those readers will get the truth about how the state government used it's excessive powers to drive John Fresolo out of the House of Representatives.
